Choose the type of project: Empty Activity
Note!
When you create a new project with the type Empty Activity, you create a Jetpack Compose project.
You need Android Studio to be at least version 2022.1.1, because Jetpack Compose appeared in mid-2021.

 
Write the name of our project:
And select the language: Kotlin
Minimum SDK : I chose Android 8.1 (Oreo)
because I bought the tablet in 2017 and it costs Android 8.1
And it also seems to me that by choosing Android 8.1 in Minimum SDK it means that it will work on almost all tablets in the world.

A new project has been created and it is like this:

Let's look at the file MainActivity.kt this is the main activity:

Compiling the project means that our code will be converted to a apk file.

Click Build → Make Project in the menu.
Then click on the Build tab at the bottom and see how the project is compiled.

Run the project, i.e. run the apk file.
