History

In 1999

The first version of J2EE (Java Enterprise Edition) was released, which combined components such as servlets, JSP, EJB, JMS.

In 2006

The fifth version of J2EE was released and renamed to Java EE.

In 2017

Company Oracle has transferred control of the development of Java EE to Company Eclipse Foundation.

In 2019

A new version of Java EE has been released and renamed to Jakarta EE.
