To work with an array (key-value) in PHP, the class array is used.

1. Create an empty array

PHP

$my_arr1 = array();

2. Create a populated array

PHP

$my_arr1 = array("name" => "Evgen", "age" => 40, "weight" => "65 kg");

3. Adding New Elements to the End of an Array

PHP

$my_arr1["name"] = "Evgen";
$my_arr1["age"] = 40;
$my_arr1["weight"] = "65 kg";

4. Array length

The count method is the number of elements in the array.

PHP

$myCount = count($my_arr1);
// $myCount = 3

5. Go through all the elements in the array

PHP

foreach($my_arr1 as $key => $value)
{
     // on first iteration
     // $key = "name"
     // $value = "Evgen"

     // on second iteration
     // $key = "age"
     // $value = "40"

     // on third iteration
     // $key = "weight"
     // $value = "65 kg"
}
